Michael Yuen is an Australian artist and curator. He will discuss his previous works, his approach to public space, the recent version of Follow for Intrude: Life & Art 366 in Shanghai, works that interest him by other artists and future projects. From the beginning of his practice, Michael has been engaged with public space as a place for art. It is the continuing re-approach of art to life that drives his practice through installations and actions using various mediums including sound, projections, light and performance.
Working either in public space or museums, his works have been described as disturbances and interventions. He often talks about his works as the creating a singular action that is allowed to resonant outward. Michael has spoken and conducted workshops widely on temporary public art, and he viewing these events as part of his practice.
